Beckhoff Automation is hiring a Regional Sales Support position to help drive sales and compliment the sales team. The Regional Support Engineer will generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders; understanding and interpreting technical requirements; providing technical information; developing accounts. They will also be responsible for directing customer interaction from inbound emails and phone calls and proactively calling on potential customers to qualify leads from tradeshows and vertical market target lists. Other important duties include, but are not limited to, targeting potential new contacts within existing key customers, developing relationships with field Sales, Field AES and customers, supporting the outside sales team with process support for key customers, maintaining records of customer communication and sales activity in CRM and established internal communication systems, and maintaining key team reports and tools such as sales team maps and contact lists.

Responsibilities

  • assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities
  • develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations
  • closes new accounts by answering telephone, fax, and e-mail inquiries; verifying and entering information
  • assists CSR's with answering questions on quotes/orders with complex configurations (not processing of orders)
  • develops accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features
  • maintains communication to the field sales (CRM once in operation) by troubleshooting, reporting, and tracking problems and opportunities
  • maintains and improves quality results by following standards; recommending improved policies and procedures
  • updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational product and sales opportunities
  • accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • meet quarterly and annual objectives working in tandem with the inside customer service, and outside sales teams
  • create technical presentations and sales tools to highlight customization and integration capabilities of our products provide input to other cross-functional departments pertaining to prospect requests and product configuration documentation as needed
  • occasional travel required to support emerging markets and events
  • develops the sales team strategy. Works with internal and/or external team to execute on tactical plans; helping to achieve strategic team goals and
  • tracks sales activities, customer data and customers' status within internal systems (CRM and MASIOO) — assisting to track growth accounts
  • increases customers' understanding of products to drive best configurations and items in inventory and for quick-sale opportunities
  • recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization
  • understands current business trends
  • understanding of day-to-day operations of team and acts as an advisor to CS to meet schedules and/or resolve technical order entry or quoting problems
  • lead a cooperative effort among members of a CS and product team to resolve a customer proposal requirement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in business, engineering or related technical field from a four year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • knowledge of industrial automation products and applications, Beckhoff knowledge preferred
  • self-starter with a results driven personality
